How it works

One card, one action

  1. 1

    Pick by age and time

From 2+ to 8+, from ten minutes to half a day. Filters show what fits today.

  2. 2

    Find the materials

A checklist of what to collect first: three long sticks, a bucket, sticky snow. Tick it off on the spot.

  3. 3

    Build step by step

One action per card, big buttons for cold fingers, timers for packing sand and letting snow settle.

  4. 4

    Paste it into the album

Photograph what you built. It goes into the family album, and a patch gets sewn on for every milestone.

Safety

Part of the instructions, not a footnote

Every world has its rules, and the big builds have their own. You see them before the first step.

  • Snow roofs. Walls at least 30 cm thick, an air hole, only below freezing. Nobody sleeps in a snow shelter.
  • Tides. Check the tide times before you start and build above the wet line. No holes deeper than a child’s knee.
  • Branches. Only dead wood from the ground. Look up before you build: nothing dead hanging overhead.
  • Adults stay close. Build Wild gives instructions, not supervision. Whether, what and where to build is up to the adults on site.

Questions

What parents ask

What age is it for?

Projects start at 2+ (a drip castle needs only hands) and go up to 8+ (quinzee, igloo, debris hut). Every project shows the age from which kids can really help. The app itself is for adults: you read, they build.

Do we need internet?

No. Everything is inside the app. It only goes online to check your purchase with the App Store.

What happens to our photos?

They stay on your iPhone, inside the app. We never see them. If you delete the app, the album goes with it.

Is a snow cave safe?

Only with the rules: thick walls, an air hole, frost, an adult digging inside, nobody sleeping in it. The app shows the rules before you start. You decide on site.

Which devices?

iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
